Sonic Co-Creator Hirokazu Yasuhara Joins Nintendo

Gamasutra is reporting that Hirokazu Yasuhara, the co-creator of Sonic the Hedgehog, is now working at Nintendo of America in the company's Software Technology division.

Gamasutra is reporting that Hirokazu Yasuhara, the co-creator of Sonic the Hedgehog, is now working at Nintendo of America in the company’s Software Technology division.

Yasuhara started in the video game industry at Sega in 1988, where he was the director and designer for many of the first Sonic the Hedgehog titles. He left the company to work at 2K Sports in 2000, followed by a stint at Naughty Dog in 2002 where he was a game designer on the Jak & Daxter and Uncharted franchises. Later, Yasuhara worked for Namco Bandai, where he helped to create the 2010 title Pac-Man Party for the Wii.

Nintendo has not revealed what Yasuhara is currently working on at Nintendo Software Technology, however, the division has a long history of developing DS and DSiWare titles. Some of their past games include; Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem and Metroid Prime Hunters.
