Darksiders II will not see a late June release after all. THQ just announced that the action-adventure game has been delayed into the sweltering heat of August. Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact date for you, but keep checking back. We’ll update this development when more news becomes available.
Developer Vigil Games has commented on the matter, saying that this added development time will be used to add “polish and to ensure that all aspects of Darksiders II meet the high-quality bar the team is targeting.”
Having been thoroughly impressed by the companies’ original Darksiders game and its incredibly interesting premise, I’d been counting the days until June 26th. However, delays are usually for the best. Although it’s a bummer, this added wait time will surely end up being worthwhile once the final product is in our grubby, controller-loving hands.
Hints had been given regarding the fact that this announcement could be imminent, so it hasn’t come as much of a surprise.
