Kirby turned twenty this year, and Nintendo has plans to celebrate that milestone using its Wii console. That news was announced at the beginning of the company’s livestream event that was held earlier today. Its president, Satoru Iwata, told gamers to look forward to an anniversary collection release, which will cull together the iconic pink blob’s triumphs from years gone by. At this moment, it is not known which of the series’ classics will be included on the Wii exclusive disc.
Considering how important Kirby has been to the gaming industry, as well as Nintendo itself, it’s great to hear that he will receive due respect. Although the character may not be a top shelf star from the company’s digital stable, he’s not too far behind those magnificent heroes and mischievous baddies.
