The official runtime for The Dark Knight Rises has been revealed thanks to the Australian Event Cinemas website. As seen above, the website states that the film will run for 2 hours and 40 minutes, which is slightly longer than the 2 hours and 32 minute runtime of The Dark Knight. While this hasn’t been confirmed by the studio, it’s a safe bet that this is in fact the real runtime for the film.
Not much else to say but this can only be seen as a good thing, right? The more Batman the better, especially since this is his final outing. The Dark Knight felt perfectly paced at its 2 and a half hour plus runtime and you can probably expect the same with The Dark Knight Rises. If it’s 2 hours and 40 minutes then it’s for a reason. I wouldn’t expect it to slow down or drag at all.
Early reports are calling the film flawless and I have no doubt that it will be.
The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20th, 2012 in North America.
