Comic Book Movie is telling us that The Dark Knight Rises will feature over an hour of IMAX footage when it hits theatres this July, which is the most that any Hollywood film has ever featured.

The Dark Knight featured 40 minutes of IMAX footage and it looks like Christopher Nolan will outdo himself for the final film in his Batman trilogy.

“There was a huge irony that we were told it would be too difficult to shoot a Hollywood movie on IMAX when we had this gigantic camera department, grips, electric, hundreds of people working for us,” said Nolan.”These were cameras that had been to the top of Mount Everest, to the bottom of the ocean and into outer space, but people thought we couldn’t make a feature film. It was absurd. I remember looking at the audience every time a helicopter banked, and everyone was leaning slightly to the side. I had never seen an audience so immersed in a film.”

I remember seeing The Dark Knight in IMAX for the first time and it was definitely an exhilarating experience watching the big action scenes in IMAX.

There’s no doubt that Nolan has planned some absolutely amazing set pieces for The Dark Knight Rises and I can’t wait to see them on the big screen in IMAX!

Rest assured folks, the price of your IMAX ticket will most definitely be worth it for The Dark Knight Rises.
