Well, it looks like the bookies can stop taking bets on what the next Call of Duty game will be. The digital phenomenon’s next iteration will be a sequel, entitled Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. That news broke today when an IGN reader sent in a photograph showing the title’s pre-order cards, which were found at a Target store. Unfortunately for Activision, this leak (for lack of a better term) will take away from its big May 1st reveal. Then again, this is an entry in the most popular video game franchise going, meaning that TNT should still expect a record number of viewers, many of whom will not be tuning in for the National Basketball League’s court-based playoff action.

For those wondering when Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will set sales records, all we have to do is to take a close look at the cards. There’s one for both of the industry’s current high-definition consoles, showing a release date of November 13, 2012.

I guess this means that I’ll have to sit down and play through Black Ops‘ campaign before November rolls around with its chilly air and Christmas buzz. For some reason, I’ve yet to do so.
