It's real. After me calling it almost a year ago, speculation a few months after that and domains being registered last week, we can confirm that Sony is indeed putting out their own crossover fighting party game in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

It’s real. After me calling it almost a year ago, speculation a few months after that and domains being registered last week, we can confirm that Sony is indeed putting out their own crossover fighting party game in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Details are still scarce, but it looks like the game has six confirmed characters right now in the way of Kratos (God of War), Fat Princess (Fat Princess), Sweet Tooth (Twisted Metal), Colonel Radec (Killzone), Parappa the Rapper (Parappa the Rapper) and Sly Cooper (Sly Cooper).

Even the stages themselves seem to be crossovers. Shown so far are stages such as squads of Patapon showing up to take on Hades and Hyda showing up in a Ratchet and Clank inspired stage.

The trailer below wraps everything up nicely. However, it’s also been confirmed the game is targeting a holiday 2012 release and will feature third-party characters. Which means, if you want Sephiroth to be the final boss as much as I do, it might happen.
