Killing the hopes and dreams of Half-Life 3 fans everywhere, Valve has officially confirmed that the company will not be announcing any new products this June at E3 2012.

The first word of the news came from a reported email exchange between Valve’s Gabe Newell and a ValveTime forum user, where Newell stated “We are not announcing anything at E3. Really… We are not announcing Half-Life 3 or Portal 3 or Left 4 Dead 3. We are going to be showing stuff everyone already knows about (CS:Go [Counterstrike: Global Offensive], Dota 2, 10′ UI [Steam ‘Big Picture Mode’]).” That email exchange was later confirmed to Joystiq by Valve rep Doug Lombardi who restated  “We have no product announcements planned for this year’s show,”.

Basically, it looks like nothing with a “3” in it will be announced by Valve at E3, nor will there by any mention of the rumored “Steam Box” or wearable computers. The only thing the company is bringing to E3 is a bunch of games we already know about and of course, Gabe Newell’s spectacular beard.
