A teaser poster from the Weinstein Company’s upcoming film, Apollo 18, has been released. The film is currently in pre-production and is being directed by new comer Gonzalo Lopez. As for the plot, the film is about the real mission to space in the 1970’s that was canceled by NASA. The film is said to be shot in a documentary style like The Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield were.

With that being all the information provided thus far, I gotta say, I’m pretty excited. I’ve always felt a sense of realness in these documentary style films and they always seem to entertain me. With the addition of the film taking place on the moon and with aliens involved, this could turn out to be pretty interesting.

With the first poster released, we see a footprint from a boot of an astronaut on the moon along with what seems to be a footprint of an alien like creature next to it.

Check it out below.

Apollo 18 is set to release on March 4, 2011.
