Since seeing Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson in Iron Man I could not help but to be overjoyed. Finally, the talented actor would be gaining some well deserved recognition! Considering the phenomenon that is The Avengers, anyone involved in the project will have many projects landing on their agents desks and Gregg is no exception.

According to THR, the actor has joined the cast of Jason Reitman‘s latest film Labor Day, adapted from the Joyce Maynard novel of the same name.

Labor Day is a drama that focuses around a road trip over Labor Day Weekend. It focuses on a mother (Kate Winslet) and her son (Gattlin Griffith). Along the way, they end up in the company of an escaped convict, Frank (Josh Brolin).

Co-stars include James Van Der Beek, Brighid Fleming and Tom Lipinski. Lipinski is rumored to be playing a younger version of Brolin in a series of flashback sequences within the film but there’s no information on who the others will be playing, nor on who Gregg will play.

Gregg’s addition to an already promising cast comes as no surprise and with Reitman’s direction, Labor Day should have no problem becoming a success.
