Frank Grillo is an actor on the rise, especially after strong turns in Warrior and The Grey. The actor is starting to see his star rise and he’ll continue to do so as Variety reports that he has joined Kathryn Bigelow‘s Zero Dark Thirty. No word yet on who he will play but I think it’s a safe bet to say that he won’t be playing Bin Laden.

Grillo has been keeping busy lately. He already has Gangster Squad, End Of Watch, Lay The Favorite, Disconnect and Intersection completed and as he looks towards the future, he’ll be re-uniting with The Grey director Joe Carnahan for Death Wish.

Admittedly, I didn’t really know much about Grillo until I saw him in Warrior, that’s when he first caught my eye. Then, after nearly stealing the show in The Grey, I really started to pay attention. The man definitely has talent and after roles in upcoming films like Gangster Squad, he’ll continue to ascend up the ladder of fame, and deservedly so.

Zero Dark Thirty is being distributed internationally by Universal and in the U.S. Sony is handling it, with a planned release date set for December 19th, 2012.
