Soon to reprise his role of Lucius Fox in The Dark Knight Rises this July, Morgan Freeman has lined up another project for 2013 with the ensemble comedy, Last Vegas.

Essentially branded as a geriatric version of The Hangover, Deadline reports Freeman is in talks to join the ranks of Michael Douglas and Robert De Niro who have already signed on, as well as Christopher Walken who is still rumoured.

Last Vegas will be directed by Jon Turtletaub (National Treasure) and chronicles the journey of four 60-something lifelong friends who skip off to Las Vegas to throw a bachelor party for their one remaining single bud (Douglas). While there, the usual trouble erupts when the gang sets their sights on a beautiful dancer.

Last Vegas is a prime example of cast trumping story, because there is sure as hell nothing revolutionary about this tale of Sin City. These older-aiming comedies have become popular recently, with hits like The Expendables and its sequel and Red proving popular with a wide audience. So why not cash in while the gimmick is hot?
