Hopkins is an acting legend and is probably most famous for playing serial killer Hannibal Lector, one of the most compelling villains in cinematic history. He’d make a great addition to RED 2 but first he has to find a way to clear his plate. He’s set to reprise his role as Odin in Thor 2 and is currently filming the Alfred Hitchcock biopic Hitchcock.

Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren and John Malkovich are set to reprise their roles and Catherine Zeta-Jones and Byung-hun Lee have joined the cast as well. Dean Parisot will replace Robert Schwentke in the director’s chair and the writers of the original movie, Jon and Erich Hoeber are set to return.

RED 2 is currently set for an August 2nd, 2013 release date.

We’ll be sure to let you know if Hopkins can clear his schedule and sign on.
