My initial assumption is that audiences won’t become outraged over this single frame of footage from Baz Luhrmann‘s upcoming The Great Gatsby, but given the intensely hostile response to the film’s trailer, anything is possible.

The new image, featured above, was revealed via the film’s UK Facebook page, and shows stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan engaging in what looks like an intense conversation. They play, respectively, title character Jay Gatsby and his former lover, Daisy Buchanan; after reuniting in West Egg, they attempt to rekindle their romance in one of the novel’s central conflicts.

Many have already made up their minds on Luhrmann’s film one way or another, and I doubt the still will change anyone’s mind. As for myself, I’m perfectly content to let the film speak for itself, in context, when it is finally released Christmas Day.
