It’s a…well, day of the week, which means we have either a new image, preview, or tidbit from Sony’s upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man. They really want to make sure everyone remembers that this movie exists.
The marketing item of choice today is images, of which we have eight, thanks to an Entertainment Weekly exclusive. They feature stars Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker/Spidey), Emma Stone (Gwen Stacey) and Rhys Ifans (Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard) in a variety of scenarios; some deadly, some romantic, some goofy, and some behind-the-scenes.
Personally, the cast appears to be the most exciting element of this upcoming reboot, and it’s nice to see them in some new scenarios. But is just me, or does Garfield’s Peter look like a bit of a ‘ladie’s man’ in this film? Gwen just can’t seem to get enough of him in any given clip and/or picture. I wonder if they’ll be established as a couple before the radioactive spider incident, which would be a large departure from the comics. Not a complaint – I’m fine with Director Marc Webb going in new directions so long as they’re interesting – just an observation.
