THQ has told Digital Spy that, despite Metro: Last Light appearing in Nintendo‘s Wii U demo reel at last year’s E3, the game is not planned for release on the upcoming device. THQ‘s Global Brand Manager, Mark Madsen, explained that it’s certainly possible the expected version could appear sometime in the future, but is not in development right now.
“If it does happen, it won’t sim-ship with the other SKUs, but if the opportunity arises we’ll take a look at it.”
Metro: Last Light is a sequel to Metro: 2033, which originally launched back in 2010. THQ still plans to release the game on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It seems that they are looking to stick with developing on consoles that they are familiar with, and don’t want to jump ahead of themselves.
