As many suspected, The Mandarin will be one of the villains in Marvel’s upcoming Iron Man 3. Collider is reporting that Ben Kingsley, who was cast back in April, will be playing the role and that in the film, he’ll be working with another villain named Aldrich Killian.

Apparently he’ll be “more a veiled threat as a silent partner to Guy Pearce’s [scientist] Aldrich Killian. Killian is the man inventing Extremis and putting it into his ‘Extremis army’ of multiple super-powered individuals.”

Admittedly, there’s a small chance that this could turn out to be false. It hasn’t been confirmed by Marvel as of yet. That being said, I’m think it’s very likely that Kingsley is playing The Mandarin. Collider is citing Latino Review as their source and they’re usually pretty reliable.

Only time will tell though.

Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr., Ben Kingsley,  Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale, Ashley Hamilton, and Guy Pearce. It opens May 3, 2013.
