As the 10th anniversary of the popular Ratchet & Clank series approaches, developer Insomniac Games has revealed that the upcoming HD remastering of the first three games in the series won’t be the only way they celebrate its history. A completely new title in the series, titled Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, has been announced for a release later this year, exclusively for download on PlayStation Network.

Few details were given, but it has been confirmed via the PlayStation Blog that the game will return to more of the series’ traditional gameplay elements, which last years’ All 4 One diverged from. It was also teased that the game will incorporate some sort of online mode as well as some new gameplay innovations that will give players “a whole new way to play”.

Additionally, the blog entry mentioned that a North American release date for the Ratchet & Clank Collection will be announced in the coming weeks, along with an additional surprise of some sort.

We will keep you updated as more details regarding the series’ 10th anniversary as they are revealed.
