IndieWire reports that Louis C.K., Andrew Dice Clay and Peter Sarsgaard have joined the cast of Woody Allen‘s next film. The untitled project also stars Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Emerson and Sally Hawkins, and co-stars Max Casella and Alden Ehrenreich.

The addition of comedians C.K. and Clay in the Gravier Productions film is a pleasant surprise. Allen is a comedic influence for C.K., as seen in the Louie season 3 teaser, which riffed on Manhattan. However, Clay is considered to be stunt casting by a filmmaker who is known for working with several actors on multiple occasions, who are considered safe bets and have proved their worth in his movies.

The film will be produced by Allen’s long time producers, Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum. It will be shot in New York and San Francisco this summer and the shoot will be the first time Allen has filmed in San Fransisco since his 1969 directorial debut, Take the Money and Run.
