A new trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate was released this week during E3 and aside from telling a bit of a story, it also shows off some slick new gameplay.

The game takes place 25 years after that events of the first game and will reveal the story of Gabriel’s descendants. You’ll be able to play as both Trevor and Simon Belmont (score!) as you battle your ancestor, Dracula.

Both Simon and Trevor will have their own unique abilities and skills and the game is said to boast a “huge array of combos and a deep strategic combat system.” Combine that with full 3D, super high resolution and levels made up of both traditional side scrolling as well as 3D sections, and it looks like we’ll be getting another exciting entry in the classic Castlevania series.

Check out the trailer and let us know what you think of this upcoming Nintendo 3DS release.

While it looks pretty good from what we see below, I’m still a bit old school when it comes to this series. Give me Symphony of the Night with an original Playstation and I’ll be a happy camper.
