SEGA Announces Binary Domain

SEGA has revealed today that Toshihiro Nagoshi, creator of the Yakuza series, will be heading up development on the new squad based action game, Binary Domain. Binary Domain will take a sci-fi setting and take place in the year 2080, in Tokyo. Not much is known about the plot but it will be something or other about humans vs. robots.

Toshihiro spoke about the game and said:

“When you hear sci-fi you may think of cold, clinical environments, with Binary Domain I wanted to combine this with a deep human drama. The keyword we have in mind for this project is ‘Life’. I wanted to make something that will be accepted by both the Japanese and Western markets, and this fundamental theme is something everyone knows but which the full extent of can be difficult to grasp. Great drama and action is a core concept of this game, and with our high technical skill, we’re aiming to make it something that appeals worldwide. One thing I want to make very clear, though, is that we’re a Japanese studio making this, and the game will not be turning its back on Japanese gamers content-wise.”
