Grimlock fans, your day has come.

VG24/7 has just released a series of screenshots from the upcoming video game, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, and in a pleasant surprise, they heavily showcase fan-favorite dinobot Grimlock.

You don’t know who Grimlock is? Well, I – wait, you don’t know what a Dinobot is?!?! Someone’s been watching way too much of Michael Bay‘s Transformers, I think.

Here’s the short version: the Dinobots are Transformers, usually fighting on the side of the Autobots, and as their name suggests, they take the form of dinosaurs. If one observes the simple mathematical principles that Robots=Awesome and Dinosaurs=Awesome, then you can see the appeal of the Dinobots: Robots + Dinosaurs = 2 Awesome. That’s why the Dinobots rock.

Grimlock is the leader of the Dinobots, and from the look of these pictures, he’s gotten a fancy new metal makeover and, as seen in the image above, has been taking lessons from the Godzilla school of fire-breathing.

The graphics on display here are very impressive overall, and the game – a sequel to 2010’s well-received War for Cybertron – looks to be coming together quite nicely. It’s being developed by High Moon Studios, and will be released by Activision on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on August 28th.
