Despite having to pass on Iron Man 3, actress Jessica Chastain still may take on return to the Marvel universe sometime in the near future. Speaking with Total Film, the actress explained why things didn’t work out with Iron Man 3 and stated that she’d still like a chance to join a Marvel film.
“It’s always a good problem to have because it means you have options. It’s not really a problem, but it was just impossible, schedule-wise. So I was sad. I met Shane Black earlier and I think he’s going to make an amazing film. And of course I went to see Avengers Assemble earlier and I loved it. I hope to be in a Marvel film.”
Of course, the question on everyone’s mind is, which Marvel character could Chastain play? Personally, I can’t see her in a Marvel film at all, despite who she plays. To me, Chastain just doesn’t seem like an actress that would fare well in the Marvel universe and to be honest, I wouldn’t want to see her go down that route. I’d rather see her stick to the more serious dramatic roles that she’s been taking on.
