With the passing of Chadwick Boseman, and a horrific on-set accident involving Letitia Wright, the sequel to MCU favorite Black Panther hit more than a couple of snags on the road, but was ultimately released last year to favorable responses from critics and fans, who praised the emotional tribute to Boseman, the score, and the acting performances, particularly that of Bassett and Wright.

The actress isn’t exactly a stranger to critical acclaim, but with her captivating turn as Wakanda’s ruler and a grieving mother in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the seasoned talent is breaking records as the first actor to win big in the acting categories at major awards.
