Is ‘Fast X’ the last ‘Fast and the Furious’ movie?

Is the tenth instalment the end of the road for Dominic Toretto?

Boy, oh boy, it’s been a good long while since the late Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor ordered a tuna sandwich at Toretto’s Market in The Fast and the Furious, kicking off the events of a franchise that not even the brainiest among us could have ever seen coming. Since that fateful first movie from 2001, Dominic Toretto’s crew has grown exponentially, as have the escapades and adventures they have found themselves undertaking.

Seriously – this franchise has gone from street racing to a brief moment of space travel. While we can only begin to imagine the increasingly ludicrous (pun intended) shenanigans that Dom and his crew will be getting up to in the soon-to-be-released Fast X, but there’s another question that may be lingering on your mind – is the tenth entry in the Fast & Furious franchise the end of the road? Here’s everything we know.

Is Fast X the end of the series? Explained

You’ll be pleased to know that Fast X won’t mark the end of Dominic Toretto’s story, but the closing moments in the franchise’s saga draw near – as the upcoming film will be the penultimate chapter in the multi-million dollar action series. Back in 2020, Variety confirmed that the Fast and Furious franchise will be ending after the 11th movie.

So, consider the upcoming Fast X (releasing on May 19) to be the Avengers: Infinity War of the series, if you will, while the film that will follow will be the series’ Endgame. With Jason Momoa primed to be the film’s antagonist, we’re almost certainly in for a high-octane and action packed movie, and one in which we can expect ‘tremendous casualties,’ if the film’s director is to be believed.
