‘Iron Man’ has deleted scenes so bad Kevin Feige refuses to release them from the Marvel Studios vault

Now we want to see them even more.

There are few blockbusters in history that have proven to be more influential than Jon Favreau’s Iron Man, which ended up changing the face of cinema forever after releasing in the summer of 2008.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 marked the 32nd feature-length installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, none of which would have been possible had Robert Downey Jr.’s iconic debut as Tony Stark not taken off in the way that it did. However, it wasn’t all plain sailing during production, and people even thought the movie was in with a shot of flopping at the box office.

Of course, hindsight is always 20/20, but it turns out that not everything captured by the cameras was worthy of Kevin Feige’s vision. In an interview with ScreenRant, producer Jeremy Jeremy Latcham admitted that there are a smattering of deleted scenes that proved to be so terrible, the architect of the MCU has locked them away in the vault with no intention of ever allowing them to be seen.

“There are still three or four deleted scenes that I don’t think will ever be released because they were so bad. I remember Kevin saying to me in 2012, when I was like, “Should we put the Abu doing laundry deleted scenes out?” And Kevin was like, “No. We can never put out Abu doing laundry. People will know we don’t know what we’re doing. It’ll be embarrassing if they see these scenes.”

But there was a whole runner in Iron Man where Tony Stark was doing laundry and I don’t think they’ve ever come out. Someone should look into it, but I don’t think they’ve ever been seen. Tony is doing laundry for the captors, but he’s really breaking the washing machine and stealing parts from it to build the Mark 1 suit. It’s so absurd. It’s wild.”

Now that we know about Tony Stark doing laundry for the Ten Rings organization, we kind of want to see them even more. #ReleaseTheLaundryCut, anyone?
