‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ villain is coming for Venom’s crown in new look

The anticipation is building.

It’s not just Oscar Isaac’s Miguel O’Hara that Miles Morales has to be afraid of in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Images of another Spidey-villain have emerged on social media, proving that he too could be a bigger threat than Venom.

The Hollywood Handle shared an image that featured the Marvel villain known as Spot. This villain appeared in Across the Spider-Verse’s second trailer, stealing food at a local supermarket. But this depiction of this portal-making menace made him look like an even bigger threat than someone who’s trying to learn how to steal an ATM.

Some fans noticed that this version of Spot looks different from the one in the trailers. The character that was featured in the film’s promo had a predominately white body. Meanwhile, this image made him look like he could create voids rather than portals. One fan assumed that his character could be Coyote, a Deadpool villain that obtained his powers the same way as Spot. But one thing’s for sure, fans are excited for this character to play a role in the middle of the multiversal Spider-Man conflict.

In addition to Spot, Miles Morales will be facing new foes in this upcoming Spider-Man movie. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the upcoming sequel to Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, and will feature a barrage of Spider-Men and women from different multiverses. The film will feature the return of Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, and Peter B. Parker, along with hundreds of other Spider-people.

This spidey-sequel will be swinging its way to theaters on June 2, 2023.
