With Fast X swiftly approaching, fans are getting restless, and with that comes some off-the-wall conversations. The latest debate to spark is when the first time was that Fast & Furious threw reality completely out the window.
In 2001, The Fast and the Furious brought us a rivalry between an undercover cop and a street racer. It was the first in this long line of films that have weathered plenty of storms in addition to a premise that refuses to get old. With street racing and loyalty to the family being the main themes of the story, the first four films are somewhat safe from being blamed for going over the top. Although taking down a drug cartel and apprehending a drug lord might seem a little farfetched for a crew of street racers who have no respect for the law.
In later installments of the franchise, the crew plots to steal a huge safe, they take on mercenaries, and they go into space. It’s somewhere in there that the filmmakers lost all touch with reality and started giving the fans truly fictional stories that could never have happened in real life, no matter how bad the illegal street racing team and FBI agents wanted it.
Forget about the action for a moment and consider what other nonsense these films are trying to pass off in their stories.

When the Fast filmmakers say go there, the graphics team goes there and this is a perfect answer to the question because it is by far one of the most ridiculous scenarios to play out in cinematic history.

The idea of two cars dragging a safe down the street while being chased and in the meantime, pulling a major stunt like a sleight-of-hand magic trick with a deck of cards is another good answer.

Reminiscing about all the times Fast forgot all about time and the reality of physics while trying to move their story along is so fun.

This stunt has actually been done in real life but the way they did it has Hollywood “out of touch” written all over it.

When a guy is thrown across a highway, lands on a windshield, and manages to hold on by his bare fingertips, that’s when it’s clear the writers have gone on vacation and left a third-grade class to their own imaginations. This is why there are diehard fans who love the movie so much, and the next installment is only a few days away to see what they’ve come up with now.
