‘Captain America: New World Order’ set pics offer a tantalizing tease at a brand new suit for Sam Wilson

New World Order, new suit order.

He only wore his old one for a grand total of one episode of television, but Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson is already getting himself a new super-suit. At long last, our second Sentinel of Liberty embraced the mantle left to him by Steve Rogers in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier finale, which paved the way for his very own movie in Captain America: New World Order. As production on that project continues in Atlanta, Georgia, we’re now learning that Sam will soon be freshening up his threads.

As shared by photographer Christopher Oquendo, a sneaky snap from the set features a smiling Mackie in the distance. Although the photo is somewhat blurry and we can only make out the Avengers: Endgame actor’s head and upper torso, it’s still clear enough that he’s wearing a different costume from the one he previously donned in Falcon episode six.

The new suit is much more of a blend of his traditional Falcon look and Steve Rogers’ uniform from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Specifically, Sam has ditched the (probably more restrictive) white headpiece from Falcon and returned to his trusty red goggles. In addition, the white shoulders and collar area has been removed in favor of an abundance of blue. Instead there is now some white detailing on the shoulder pads as well as a red stripe across each shoulder.

And, yes, that is also WWE star Seth Rollins in the second pic, so it looks like Sam is about to get his new suit roughed up when he tussles with the wrestling ace. Captain America: New World Order is coming to theaters on May 3, 2024.
