A ‘Fast & Furious’ veteran admits not everyone is going to be happy with ‘Fast X’s credits scene

The long-term franchise star is fully expecting some angry fan reactions.

A seasoned Fast & Furious star dropped a bombshell about the post-credit scene of the latest installment, Fast X, that it is bound to stir up mixed emotions among fans.

Per Entertainment Tonight, veteran actor Michelle Rodriguez acknowledges that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson‘s breathtaking cameo in the end credits will trigger some fans while pointing out that the endgame in sight.

“They’re going to be a little pissed at us. But, you know, I mean, it’s due. It’s long overdue. It’s the beginning of the end, so we kinda gotta throw it all the wall and see what sticks.”

Fast X sees Johnson briefly reprise the role of Luke Hobbs, a character not seen in the mainstream franchise since The Fate of the Furious. He previously exited the universe the series after publically locking horns with co-star Vin Diesel on set and posting a not-so-subtle Instagram post blasting certain colleagues as “unprofessional.” 

Rodriguez was delightfully candid when asked about Johnson’s cameo at Charlize Theron’s Africa Outreach event, explaining: “It just means there’s more.”

She spoke with pride and pragmatism about Fast and Furious. Despite its humble roots in Ken Li’s 1998 ‘Racer X’ article for Vibe magazine, it has become one of history’s highest-grossing film franchises and has spawned a multimedia empire. She spoke lyrically about a special milestone that recently came to pass:

“22 years strong. [It is the] longest standing relationship in Hollywood history.”

Fast X has already earned a staggering $318,889,000 at the global box office. Rodriguez seems relieved to see her co-stars put their differences aside. Her awareness of the cultural and historical significance of the films and makes her eager to see them reach a distinguished conclusion. 

Johnson has yet to comment on the significance of his appearance in Fast X and what it might mean for the franchise. However, it seems that Rodriguez has let the proverbial cat out the bag and fans can expect to see him back in the saddle in the next Fast and Furious installment.

Fast X is currently showing in cinemas.
