Hailee Steinfeld shares some harsh words of advice for Kate Bishop

Gwen isn't mincing her words when it comes to superhero tips.

Hailee Steinfeld has the rare distinction of playing two major Marvel roles at once. In the MCU, she’s Hawkeye’s protege Kate Bishop, who made a barnstorming debut in his Disney Plus show back in 2021. Over in the Spider-Verse, she voices Gwen Stacy aka Spider-Woman, with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swinging in theaters today to almost universal critical adulation.

Steinfeld has already discussed which hero would come out on top if it ever came to blows (obviously Gwen, sorry Kate) but now she’s considered what words of advice Gwen would give to Kate if they ever met. Speaking to ScreenRant, she felt that Gwen would sternly say:

“Get it together! Stay focused, move quick, and don’t forget to have fun, of course.”

Fair enough, though it’s worth remembering that by the time of Into the Spider-Verse, Gwen has already had a long and eventful superhero career, while Kate is just beginning hers. The chances of the two ever actually meeting are very slim, but we know that the Spider-Verse is at least adjacent to the MCU after Spider-Man 2099 dismissed Tom Holland’s Spidey as the “little nerd on Earth-19999”.

Into the Spider-Verse is one of the greatest superhero movies of all-time, and the reviews indicate this pushes the visuals and storytelling even further than that. Sure, at two hours and 20 minutes long it’s going to be an ultramarathon-level ordeal on the visual cortex, but strap us in and give us that popcorn!
