‘The Flash’ director continues doing a stellar job of not denying that he’s signed on for ‘The Brave and the Bold’

We'll just take this one as a given, then.

Having been the subject of rumors dating back months, it’s beginning to look nailed-on that The Flash director Andy Muschietti will be named as the director of the DCU’s upcoming Batman reboot The Brave and the Bold.

Should the Scarlet Speedster’s long-awaited solo debut live up to the critical and commercial expectations when it hits theaters next week, then it can’t be denied that co-CEO James Gunn is assembling one hell of a filmmaking roster. Alongside his own Superman: Legacy, Muschietti’s Dark Knight do-over would join James Mangold’s Swamp Thing on the docket, which is quite the trio.

Of course, nothing has been confirmed or set in stone as of yet, but after giving a highly non-committal answer when questioned last week, Muschietti has been back at it again after Fandango‘s Erik Davis queried whether or not the online speculation regarding The Brave and the Bold was right on the money.

“We would love to. We can’t speak about those things yet but it feels like a very exciting possibility.”

That’s about as solid as “yes” as you could, but a combination of the ongoing writers’ strike and the legal ramifications of outing himself as The Brave and the Bold‘s director ahead of time, we’re going to have to make do with the assumption that he really is going to be the person wielding the megaphone. If he isn’t, then that’ll be the real shock after he’s come about as close as you possibly can to confirming that he’s the guy.
