‘EXPEND4BLES’ trailer gets the band back together for another round, and yes, that is the actual title

Time to dust off those creaking joints and get back into the action.

If you’re a fan of 2 Fast 2 Furious, horror remake Th13teen Ghosts, or Josh Trank’s Fant4stic, then oh boy are you going to love EXPEND4BLES.

That’s right; the long-awaited fourth installment in the action franchise is really going with the nonsensical nomenclature, which actually kinds of fits the franchise to a tee. Does it have terribly-scripted banter contained within? Yes it does. Does the CGI look somewhere between unconvincing and horrendous? You betcha. Is the plot A-to-B good guys hunting down terrorists. Sure. Does that mean it won’t be fun? Absolutely not, this is The Expendables we’re talking about.

From the looks of the footage, Jason Statham and Megan Fox will be enjoying as much domestic bliss as one can when also being a highly-trained mercenary, before Sylvester Stallone’s Barney Ross appears on the scene to recruit the couple for their latest mission. Given that Sly has confirmed he’s bowing out after this one, don’t be surprised if he dies, but maybe he’ll just quietly retire instead.

Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture fill out the old guard, with new additions including 50 Cent, Tony Jaa, and Andy Garcia. A September 22 release date has also been locked in, so maybe we could be looking at an early fall sleeper hit seeing as the first three combined to earn upwards of $800 million at the box office.

It’s great to see the band back together, and with tongue planted firmly in cheek, there’s a distinctly high possibility that there’s lots of fun to be had.
