TMZ reported that 2Pac’s sister, Sekyiwa Shakur, addressed the crowd who came to celebrate and honor the late rapper’s achievements. Shakur held back tears when she spoke about her brother’s legacy in the rap industry. Meanwhile, the city of Los Angeles gave the sister a framed certificate that gave recognition and resolution to 2Pac for his legacy and all the work he left behind.

“Tupac knew deep down that he was always meant for something great. And as his little sister, I had the privilege to watch that greatness unfold. From the first time he stepped foot on the stage of the Apollo Theater at 13 years old, before anyone recognized his name. He knew he had the dream to have a star here on the Walk of Fame.”

Aside from his sister, 2Pac’s friends, such as YG, Mike Epps, Treach from Naughty by Nature, and Bigboy, along with numerous rap fans, gathered on Hollywood Boulevard to celebrate the rapper’s achievements. 2Pac is now the 2758th celebrity to receive a star on the Walk of Fame, according to its official Instagram page.

The Walk of Fame is one of the numerous achievements 2Pac has earned throughout his career, even after his death. He is regarded as one of the most influential rappers of all time, having been inducted into the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. 2Pac started his career in 1989 before making his solo debut in 1991. He went on to release four studio albums and sold over 75 million records. As of writing, the rapper had over 24 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
