‘The Boys’ shares an update on Homelander ahead of season 4

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Homelander.

The Boys has provided an update on the beleaguered Captain of the Seven, Homelander (Antony Starr), and fans can’t get enough of the news blurb. When season three of the series left off, Homelander showed his true nature by murdering a protestor in broad daylight. His supporters loudly cheered.

On the Vought International Twitter page, a clip was released of Vought CEO Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie) as she reassured Homelander’s many fans and admirers about the hero’s innocence in his upcoming murder trial. She encouraged fans to post “#HomeFree” on their social media pages to support the embattled hero.

Marketing for season four of The Boys has been excellent thus far. Though it’s been a while since viewers last saw the characters, the Amazon series has opted to update fans with short, in-universe teasers that paint a broader picture of what season four will be like.

The Boys has always been on point with its satire, and the clip parodies much of what’s happening in the world now. Many cults of personality have popped up in the political arena, their supporters blinded by their love for what they perceive their idol to be. Homelander’s trial will doubtless be a farce next season – he’s becoming increasingly unhinged, and it’s doubtful that he’ll respond to any form of punishment. After all, who could make Homelander do anything?

With season four being rumored to be the penultimate season of The Boys, anything can realistically happen. There have already been many teases that this season will be even more outrageous than the last — if that’s even possible. This little teaser shows that Homelander is more untouchable than ever – and that will be a big problem for the Boys.
