‘The Flash’ unites the divided DC fandom in demanding just one thing from James Gunn

Just let us have this, Gunn.

Since its recent theatrical release, The Flash has become the center of all superhero-themed conversations. A lot has been said about DC’s newest film — from heavy criticism of its CGI to musings regarding its most bizarre scene — but among all the negativity, there is one aspect fans find worthy of praise.

Sasha Calle made her DC debut in the movie playing Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, and left no one indifferent. As more and more fans flock to the theaters, the actress’ popularity is steadily increasing, and now, while the fandom tears itself apart with diverging opinions, Calle seems to hold everyone together. On social media, her portrayal of the character is getting so much love that fans are demanding James Gunn use her in future DCU installments.

Of course, the most obvious way to feature Calle as Kara again would be in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. The project has been confirmed by Gunn as part of DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, and while it’s already in motion, so far there has been no word about who will play the titular character. Unsurprisingly, though, Calle is more than willing.

The actress already expressed how much she loves the comic this film will be based on and made it clear she hopes to continue playing Supergirl. So, Calle wants it and the fans want it; now it’s up to James Gunn to make it happen.
