BTS footage reveals Netflix truly pulled out all the stops for its latest action thriller

Netflix shows us just how they created some of those epic action shots in 'Extraction 2,' and even the BTS footage is terrifying.

It’s action time once again for Chris Hemsworth as he reprises his role of Tyler Rake in Extraction 2. After the first film’s success on Netflix, the sequel is going all out, with chase scenes, epic fights, explosions, and hanging from very tall buildings — you name it, it’s got it. Stunt work like this can be extremely difficult to do, and now Netflix is giving us a sneak peek at the nitty gritty of filming one of these scenes.

There is something about a good action film that we all love, despite the fact that they are usually fairly predictable and that we’ve seen fight scenes and car chases a number of times before; we constantly crave the thrills. With film technology improving all the time, so too has the action gotten bigger and better, and Extraction 2 proves that in a major way.

Netflix is giving us a look at Hemsworth’s action-packed adventure with a behind-the-curtain video uploaded to Twitter. It goes without saying that there were necessary tricks and illusions used, but even the behind-the-scenes footage looks hair-raising. It’s definitely a do not try this at home type situation.

The above clips show the side-by-side images of the final shot vs. the behind-the-scenes. Though Hemsworth’s role is impressive, we have to give it up for all the camera operators strapped to the back of moving vehicles, the stunt people involved, and those in charge of the pyrotechnics and vehicle collisions. We can only imagine the eye-watering amount it costs to pull off such a scene.

You can catch Extraction 2 now streaming on Netflix.
