Where does Richard Gere live?

The $10M estate is a fabulous retreat far and away from city life.

Acclaimed Hollywood actor Richard Gere has settled into a gorgeous 35-acre estate in North Salem, New York, with his wife, Alejandra Silva, 38, and their two young sons. Gere purchased the property in 2022 for $9.8 million, and it is an eyeful!

The beautiful red-brick manor has seven large bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Situated only one hour north of Manhattan in an enclave of Westchester County, Gere’s new family residence is a massive 9,000 square feet. But that wasn’t enough space for his and his family’s needs. Gere bought a vacant neighboring property for $700,000, expanding their ownership to an enormous 35 acres.

Before this, the villain of Arbitrage lived in a massive, 11,600 square foot mansion in Pound Ridge (also in Westchester County, New York) for over twenty years. That property is now listed at $28 million.

Privacy is always a concern for a celebrity of Gere’s status, so this home suits his needs. Tucked away in an exclusive community, Richard Gere and his wife Alejandra Silva can enjoy their quiet family life away from the prying public.

Gere is known to be a private person who practises Buddhism, and he quietly hid his purchase by using a Los Angeles trust company to conceal the sale. Unfortunately for Gere, locals have revealed his new home to the media and that the celebrity and his family recently moved into their North Salem residence and decorated their driveway with Buddhist prayer flags.

Luckily, the pretty town of North Haven is generally known as a peaceful retreat away from the chaotic city life of Manhattan.
