As ‘The Marvels’ lands a new trailer, Brie Larson defenders only have one demand

Carol Danvers nation unite.

Word has it that we’re close to getting a new look at the final MCU movie of 2023, which is of course The Marvels — the long-awaited sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel. The first trailer for the Nia DaCosta movie landed back in April, so with the film now only five months away from hitting theaters, we’re due another one. But as excited as folks are for a fresh glimpse at what’s in store, Brie Larson lovers have one request for Kevin Feige and company.

First of all, yes, we’re apparently due a new trailer for The Marvels any day now. According to Cryptic HD Quality, an account that has offered up accurate Marvel trailer information in the past, “The NEW Marvels trailer is listed and well on it’s way.”

Over on a Reddit thread discussing the happy news, though, the most upvoted comment saw one fan keeping their fingers crossed that there will be much more of Carol Danvers this time around. As Redditor Alert_Tie7899 shared:

“I hope this trailer is a little more Carol focused. Some of the marketing so far makes it seem like she’s not even the main character, which I know is not the case from the plot leaks.”

The fan continued by stating that it seems curious that Marvel is sidelining the star of $1 billion movie in favor of two so-far Disney Plus exclusive characters that are, in all likelihood, less of a draw for audiences.

“It just seems like a confusing marketing strategy to me for the casual fans to see two characters they might not have seen the shows of, and the most known character off to the side.”

As the title implies, The Marvels is something of a team-up flick that’ll see Carol partner up with Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). The three heroines coming together is obviously its big USP, then, but Marvel shouldn’t overlook Larson’s appeal in the process. Don’t let the haters through you off, Kevin, Brie is still one of your most lucrative stars.

The Marvels blasts into cinemas this Nov. 10.
