Jenna Ortega looks all set for a white wedding in ‘Beetlejuice 2’ set photos

What's the Deetz family up to?

Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice 2 may not be releasing until next year, but people have already been a witness to an upcoming set of nuptials, and it’s a wedding scene featuring Jenna Ortega clad in a white tulle-laden gown alongside Winona Ryder on the movie’s set in Hertfordshire, England.

This picture in particular – along with the star-studded cast like Michael Keaton, Monica Bellucci, Wilhelm Dafoe, and Justin Theroux to name but a few – have heightened curiosity to gather more information about the plot, and how well the new installment will fare against the expectations set by its predecessor.

The Wednesday star – who achieved an incredible amount of success and stardom after playing the gothic titular character in the hit Netflix series – was announced for the ensemble last March, and ever since her fans have been curious to know more about her role.

Being a part of the cult hit slasher franchise Scream – where she plays the headstrong sister of the protagonist Tara Carpenter – this isn’t exactly Ortega’s first time foraying into mainstream movies. Based on the snaps, one can say safely that it’s a wedding scene, and the daughter of Ryder’s Lydia Deetz is the one getting hitched.

While information remains scarce, based on the previous movie’s ending, it can be suggested that the wedding might be one of the film’s most climatic moments where Beetlejuice’s escape from prison (if this is the case) might be publicly announced to the shock and disappointment of the Deetz family.

We’ll have to wait a little longer to find out for sure, but we are free to speculate until Beetlejuice 2 releases on Sep 6, 2024.
