‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ has arrived on VOD and is already leaving emotional devastation in its wake

Although we’ve still got an indeterminate amount of time to wait before it streams on Disney Plus, the good news is that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now finally available to buy on VOD. The much-loved threequel’s digital release has been long awaited as James Gunn’s last Marvel outing was such a hit with audiences once it debuted in theaters back in May. Critics might’ve dubbed it the weakest of the Guardians trilogy, but it’s fair to say many fans out there disagree.

Now that Guardians 3 is the kind of Marvel production that leaves you with a big smile on your face from start to finish. In fact, Gunn seemed determined to wrench as many tears from us as possible. And, you know what, it turns out the movie’s emotional manipulation is just as effective on the small screen as it is the big one. Just hours after its arrival in our homes, Vol. 3 is already turning sofas into sob city central.

Does Guardians 3 hold the MCU record for being the quickest Marvel film to reduce us to tear-stained wrecks?

Why d’you have to do that to Rocket and Lylla, James? WHY??

“Oh rocket.” Says it all, really.

At least now we can prepare ourselves for lots more tears to come in Gunn’s DCU.

When other recent Marvel efforts such as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and even Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrived on VOD, there was an almost immediate backlash against them, but it seems that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3‘s reputation will only grow as more and more people see it over time.
