Remember when Battlefield 4 was supposedly accidentally revealed a few days ago in a leak on EA‘s digital distribution service Origin? Well, it turns out that was (Surprise!) true, which means you can get your hands on a beta invite in the upcoming Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

The fact that Battlefield 4 is a realt thing shouldn’t really surprise anyone. It’s been clear that EA has been gunning for Activision‘s yearly shooter throne, and has been competing using alternating Battlefield and Medal of Honor games, similar to how Activision seems to be alternating Modern Warfare and Black Ops.

For those concerned that this means Battlefield 3 may be getting less attention, DICE took to their website to say that isn’t the case:

The team at DICE is hard at work on the next entry in the Battlefield series, and to ensure access to the exclusive Battlefield 4 beta, shooter fans can pre-order Medal of Honor Warfighter today. While there is no further Battlefield 4 news at this point – remember, if you don’t see it published here, it’s just rumor and speculation – we did want to take this opportunity to share a few thoughts on the state of the Battlefield franchise.

Keep in mind, there are still three whole expansions planned to be released at some point for Battlefield 3.

The beta for Battlefield 4 has an expected date of “Fall 2013.” So don’t throw away those old games just yet.

I’m still just trying to figure out how to fly the jet.
