Skyrim’s Dawnguard DLC Is Nowhere To Be Seen On The PC Or PS3

The Dawnguard DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim released a month ago on the Xbox 360, and whilst it received a middling reception in our review it has nonetheless had both PS3 and PC players eagerly awaiting its release. The Dawnguard DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim released a month ago on the Xbox 360, and whilst it received a middling reception in our review it has nonetheless had both PS3 and PC players eagerly awaiting its release. The 30 day exclusive has now elapsed, and not only is there no DLC to be found for either platform but the only announcement made about it is far from promising.

Bethesda’s VP of PR and Marketing Peter Hines Tweeted today that:

“We [Bethesda] have not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given a timeline for any such news. If we have news, I promise I’d tell you.”

The month of silence had been presumed to be due to the fact that there was nothing surprising that needed to be announced. The exclusivity deal with Microsoft was only for 30 days, and this usually means that the other platforms will receive the content almost immediately thereafter. Without so much as a timeline, it appears that there will be a significant amount of waiting and blood letting before this DLC expands beyond the Xbox.

PC players have a near endless amount of mods to occupy their time; PS3 players do not. You never know what a new day will bring, but Dawnguard doesn’t seem to be on the horizon for a significant amount of Skyrim‘s players.
