The fifth and final developer diary for Worms Revolution has been released. Detailing the weapons that will be joining the new classes, customisations and game modes, the video reveals which of the series staples have remained and what new ones await.

Classic attacks such as the Concrete Donkey and Holy Hand Grenade remain, but the new features such as dynamic water and physics objects will deliver some additions to the arsenal. Drowning your enemies is one of the distinguishing elements of the series, but this is the first time that you will be able to make the water come to them as opposed to the other way round. The physics objects within the game are also more than mere set-dressing, and can make for rather powerful attacks due to their various damage-dealing properties.

The class switching opens up the game to some interesting, bait-and-switch style tactics. I can see a lot of potential in it both from a strategic standpoint and as a way to annoy your opponents. However, the physics objects seem as though they may obfuscate much of the offence. The series has thrown numerous environmental hazards at us over the years, but some of these seem too imposing to facilitate tactical freedom.

We will finally see if the worm has successfully turned this October when Worms Revolution releases on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
