Despite being rumored for the role of Anastasia Steele in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie, neither Emma Watson or Elizabeth Olsen will confirm their involvement. For weeks now we’ve heard both names being tossed into the mix but according to the actresses themselves, the recent rumors hold no truth.

Watson, who has been mixing things up recently by taking on a whole variety of film roles (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Noah and The Bling Ring), still hopes to break away from her Harry Potter character Hermione Granger but she won’t be doing so by starring in Fifty Shades of Grey.

“I haven’t read the book, I haven’t a read a script, nothing,” Watson said, “There are so many movies you become attached to when I’ve literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo– I never even saw a script!”

As for Olsen, who is slowly climbing her way up the A-list ladder, the case seems to be the same. Like Watson, she’s denying having any involvement with the film.

“It’s had a huge impact on society. Apparently rope sales have skyrocketed because women who’ve read the book are really getting into bondage, which is kind of great,” Olsen commented, “It’s such a taboo for women to actually discuss sexuality without the help of Cosmopolitan. All of a sudden, this book has become a sensation because the women reading it haven’t had access to this kind of thing before. I was talking to a guy who was making a joke about it, saying, ‘Clearly these women just need to watch porn.’ In a way, he’s right.”

While further rumors state that actresses like Shailene Woodley and Dakota Fanning are in the running, once again, these are just rumors. Nothing official has been revealed yet. In fact, the Fifty Shades of Grey movie doesn’t even have a director or script yet, so we’re still a long ways away from hearing anything in the way of confirmation for a lead actress.

That being said, we can always speculate, right? Head down to the comments and tell us who you’d like to see star in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
