Start your engines, GRID fans! From the looks of things, Codemasters is hard at work on a sequel to one of 2008’s most popular racing games.

Yesterday’s release of a brief teaser trailer showing a spinning wheel and a familiar logo has fans of the genre buzzing. But the party didn’t stop there. The British video game company followed up its unexpected video with a quirky Tweet, which read:

“This looks… interesting? #TheRaceReturns”

As you’ll see in the attached teaser, GRID 2 is scheduled to be revealed on August 8, 2012. That’s a mere four days from now. So, that means we’ll have more information for you then.

Granted, this news shouldn’t come as much of a surprise considering the fact that its predecessor was quite popular, and the company has owed Reliance Big Entertainment a sequel since 2010. That year, the Indian company acquired the Southam-based car nuts.

Check out the quick tease below and let us know what you think.
