Rise Of The Triad’s Reveal Trailer Wants You To Bang Your Head

Heavy metal makes everything better. You know it’s true. I grew up with a torrid love affair of shirtless men in leather jackets playing guitars in factories that seem to produce only sparks while women thrash around on sports cars miles away. Ok, so maybe in retrospect the 80's weren’t as great as I like to pretend they were... But the fact remains! Metal makes things better.

Heavy metal makes everything better. You know it’s true. I grew up with a torrid love affair of shirtless men in leather jackets playing guitars in factories that seem to produce only sparks while women thrash around on sports cars miles away. It seems the guys at Interceptor Entertainment agree with me since the latest trailer for Rise of the Triad is full loud guitars, cheesy one liners and brilliant explosions. Hell, they even threw in a fart for good measure! It’s great to see that everything from the weapons to the soundtrack is trying to stay as brutal and silly as the original. I can’t wait to see how this plays out in the long run.

I really don’t know what else I can tell you about the reveal trailer. If you consider yourself an old school PC gamer, this is something you really can’t afford to miss on. It’s fantastic to see this much attention being given to a title like this.  60 FPS, completely moddable, Steamworks and all for just $14.99.

For those of you sticking around in the Dallas, TX area after QuakeCon, project Audio Director Andrew Hulshult will be performing with his band Burying the Trend on August 10th. You can check out a sample track from the Rise of the Triad here and find Hulshult’s other project here.
