Dwayne Johnson Tweets Picture From The Fast And The Furious Six Set

For fans of The Rock, you’ll unfortunately have to wait all the way until March of 2013 to see Dwayne Johnson in his next action offering G.I. Joe: Retaliation. However, to tide you over, Mr. Johnson has Tweeted an image from the set of The Fast and the Furious Six which shows him and Haywire star Gina Carano having a merry old time.

For the sixth instalment in the “Fast” franchise (which has grossed $700 million Stateside alone) series regulars Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Chris Bridges will be joined by Johnson and Carano along with Luke Evans and star of The Raid Joe Taslim.

Justin Lin returns to direct the sequel which has recently entered principle photography and will find the gang of thieves pulling off a heist in Europe (because, you know, they apparently squandered their millions already).

Jabs aside, Fast Five was a hugely entertaining, over-the-top romp that was frankly the most entertaining of the series. With the infusion of some new blood, the return of The Rock and some more heist antics, The Fast and the Furious Six or whatever its official title ends up being (I vote for ‘Furious Six”) it promises to be another outlandish action spectacle.

The gang returns to theaters May 24, 2013.
