[Update] GAME has confirmed that the reported online listing for Majora’s Mask 3D was a third-party hoax:

“I can confirm that the listings for a 3DS version of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask on the GAME and Gamestation websites were fabricated images. We’d also be very excited if they were making this game but I’m afraid we have no news for our customers at present.”

Original article below.

An online listing for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D was spotted on UK retailer GAME’s website yesterday by a quick-thinking shopper, who managed to grab a screenshot before it was removed.

The placeholder listing did not include a picture of the box art, or any other specific details about the game, but did give it a “TBC-2012” release date.

Nintendo has not official announced a 3DS version of Majora’s Mask, however, they have mentioned the possibility  of such a title in the past. Last November long-time Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma stated that The Big N has tossed around the idea of doing a 3DS remake of the N64 classic, similar to last year’s The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, but said that they would rather release a new Zelda title for the handheld before developing another remake.

Right now this should officially be considered a rumor. With that said, retailers don’t typically spend a lot of time making fake listings to post on their websites, so don’t be surprised if you hear something official about The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D announced soon.
