Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall is gearing up for production, with cameras set to start rolling next week. Now that everything has come together (and rather quickly at that), things are starting to fall into place. We already know most of the cast, but there are still a few holes left to fill, namely that of who will be playing The Colonel.

Not too long ago, Jim Carrey was teased for the role though at the time, it was nothing but a rumor. Despite that there was no confirmation on the casting, most people agreed that the actor was actually the perfect fit for the role and that Carrey would make a wonderful addition to the Kick-Ass universe.

Word on Carrey’s casting went quiet for a while but recently, director Jeff Wadlow hopped on Twitter to let fans know that the film had found its Colonel. Though he didn’t say which actor would take the role, he did drop a big hint.

Check out what he had to say below:

”6 days till we start shooting… and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f’n then!”

Of course, anyone who knows Jim Carrey and knows his films will know that “Alright f’n then” is a catch phrase of one of Carrey’s most iconic characters, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Still, it’s far from an official confirmation but it definitely is a possibility that Carrey has indeed accepted the part.

We likely won’t hear anything official until next week but as always, we’ll keep you posted.

Kick-Ass 2 will hit theatres on June 28th, 2013.
